having lost my clutch and all symptoms pointed to the slave cylinder so i replaced this item with an oberon in a lovely red!!! the original one fell apart on the dismantle so it was all looking good to this being the issue , but in typical italian style NOPE !!!

the clutch still wont operate even thou the cylinder is pumped through.......
beginning to look at a litre of petrol for this one!!!

please help

are you getting any pressure at all. is it bled correctly. slightest bit of air in the system can stop it working as it should. what aged bike you got. gen 2 have a bleed nipple on master cylinder, bleed it here then at slave. gen 2 dont so crack open hose banjo and see if any air there. mastercylinder seals can fail also

it bleeds well i think, but same feel and symptoms as the reason why i changed to the oberon unit.... am i missing a trick could it be the clutch plunger that is stuck and the lightness is in fact the slave cylinder just pushing and retracting nothing as the pin is stuck in the whole?????

i had alot of clutch problems recently. take off the clutch outer cover and diagthram seal. check the pressure plate bearing hasnt collapsed.

i didnt replace the gasket the first time, just check for damage. didnt drop the oil. lost a dribble from it but not a great deal

clutch cover is on the r/h side. big round flat one with a pipe coming out the side. look for anything damaged inside. some have had bearings fail. if this is your problem you should see

Oberon slave cylinders take a bit of work to get them to bleed properly in my experience
I usually bleed them from the bottom up using a syringe

Sounds like yours is still full of air

Hi Mike

i think its leaking fluid as the puddle has got bigger under the bike?
it all sounded like the slave cylinder at first but know am wondering as its likr it was brefore i changed the slave cylinder!!!

I had alot of problems on my 04 rsvr clutch when I first bought it ( the guy I got it off thought it was ****** so got it to a steal) kept creeping and losing pressure I got the same slave as you from Oberon and also struggled to get it to work but then got some tips on bleeding it and bingo one sorted clutch hope yours is a case of bleeding correctly,

I had the same issue not too long ago when changing out the front brake lines from 2 into 1 to 2 into 2 with a double banjo bolt at the slave cylinder. I couldn't get pressure when I finished bleeding both front calipers. On a hunch, I bled the slave cylinder and then I had pressure. I hope that helps.

Get a syringe and pump from the bottom to the top, maybe remove the slave and see if you can fill it with fluid first?
