tis normal for it to be dark

not normal to be using fluid, guessing if you changed it yourself you didnt tighted the bleed nipple up problley now loosing fluid

cheers for quick reply,checked bleed nipple,everything tight??hhhmmmmm

I have posted this elsewhere before but I can't find it. It's to prevent the fluid going black so quickly.

Take the slave cylinder off the engine housing (no need to drain fluid or anything, just leave the line attached) and you'll notice the rod has black sticky goo on it. Apparently this comes from catching on the seal. Clean off thoroughly and lubricate the rod and seal with silicone grease, (about a £5 for a can of spray from Halfords). Hey presto - job done. It's about a 15 minute job so well worth the effort.
It's now 2000 miles since I did mine and the fluid is still clear.

Sorry, can't help with the loss of fluid.

got fed up with bleeding mine ..ordered new seals from kickstart in wales and changed both the slave cylinder and the pushrod seal...17 quid delivered for the 2 and about 30 mins to change and bleed through
