clunking coming from in and around swingarm pivot

this has developed over the past few days, i can make it happen consistently if i roll on hard and then brake sharply (unloading the suspension) there is then a slight clunk from in around the back of the motor..

anyone had any experience of this? im hazarding a guess it's going to be either shock linkage bearings or swingarm pivot bearings.. i originally thought it was potentially the output shaft or the sprocket had worked it's way loose.. but checked and there is no movement lateral movement if i put pressure on the front sprocket in either direction and the sprocket is secured..

any one any suggestions before i pull the back end out of her?

could be the roller bearings in the shock dog bones, i know mine fell apart on my 02 when i swapped to a first gen ohlins with associated dog bones.
