Clucth mod once and for all!
I bought some aftermarket handles but that led into difficult gears and impossible to find neutral. The reason, handle travel was to short at max setting and didn’t push the plunger deep enough into the slave. I then fiddled with the plunger adjuster and got perfect gear change with easy to find neutral. However once the bike warmed up clutch slipped. I went back to OEM handle as on max adjustment (away from bars) it pushes the plunger deeper into the slave. So with the clutch handle adjusted fully away from the bar and with plunger adjusted for no slippage, the result is; great gear change, easy neutral but handle is unreachable “a whole foot from the bar” (need a monkey hand to operate).
Therefore it seems to me Aprilia made the length of that slave plunger too long. I compared it with the Ducati 1098 (same brembo – look-wise) slave and plunger has half the travel.
I am wondering if the Ducati slave would work?
Is there an aftermarket slave that would get round the problem?
Lets discuss...
