Clocks are going haywire

After the recent fud fest II watersking weekend, my speedo has going haywire. IT works for about 500 yard, then flicks up and down some random speeds, before just showing 0mph all the time.
Any ideas what this might be? Could it be water etc, if so why does it work for a wee while before stopping again?
Cheers gadgies

Slomo min,

thats a pain in the butt, Italian electrics strike again. Probably is water in the gubbins but what to do, sorry I have no idea.
Look on the bright side though, no speedo, u could imagine u are fastmigadgie now, no evidence to say otherwise............
Hope it sorts itself oot though.

Similar thing happened on my old Mille after some heavy rain on a trip to Europe. It all sorted itself out again once everything dried out - I didn't do a thing to fix it. Hope it works for you!

The clocks seem to have came back to life. I was getting random numbers when standing still, but now everything seems to be fine. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.
