I was reading one of the other threads and the conversation went on about screens, Well let me tell you a story, I had only had the prilla a few weeks and i ended up at the bike show cut a long story short i purchased a smoked double bubble screen, week after, nice day, went out for a days ride out, after stopping for a cuppa for half hour we set off, as i am ridding along i notice something funny about my clocks so pull over and what looked like to me was an electrical fault had occured all the top of the clocks had melted, weekend after took back to dealer demanding a new set of clocks under waranty, the dealer smiled at me as i explained about this electrical fault, let me tell you said he its not electrical as there are no electrics in that part of the clock what has happened he said the sun has been shining on the screen as its been parked up, the crease line in the double bubble has acted like a prism and magnified the suns rays and melted the clocks, this has happened quite a lot since the screens have become more popular, lucky for me he was RSV mad and sorted me out under waranty, but just be aware them clocks aint cheep, at first i did not believe a word of it but have since heard of it again on a R1....

Dont like the Double bouble screens anyway, Would that happen on a DB Black screen though.....for those wanting a horrible DB screen.....:biggrin

I'm not a fan of double bubble either. Apart from looking awful and the possible effects described by Carpe, for me at 6ft 2", all that happens is the air pressure is moved from your upper chest to your helmet which causes even worse buffeting. Shorter people may get on better with them though. They were originally designed for racing whereby racers could get down behind the screen to improve aerodynamics. The marketing people then got hold of the idea and sold them to us on the pretence that they'll stop all that wind turbulence at higher speeds. As i've said works for some but not me

I feel it makes for a excellent neck work out, save's a day at the gym lol, i've never really thought about it to much just kinda accepted it, i just assumed it was to do with the shape of my lid. Not going to change it tho have more important things to buy, BLING!!!!!!!:thumbup

If you notice the standard screen has a painted blanked off area above the clocks. It's there partly for the mentioned reason. If you paint a similar area on a DB they are generally fine because the danger area will also be blanked off. Worked alright for me and i have been in some serious temps in spain etc without issue.

Without my DB screen I cannot see the top half of the display, hence needing to fit one.
Surely not all other owners are dwarfs?

Very true Bad Boy, i think some work and some don't. Maybe depends on your riding posture i guess. No offence to anyone who has one, i just have a pet hate of double bubble screens.

Hey there Bad Boy. Just seen your avatart. As my Granny used to say " Youll catch cold going out dressed like that!":pirate
