I get a clicking sound when decelerating is this normnal or does it indicate excesive valve clearence or cct problem ?

The RSV shim setups are pretty noisy even on spec. gaps. Only one way to find your clearances is to go on in and guage em.
That said...did the service done 1K ago have anyone touch your valve gear?
Cheers..

Chk clearances..if ok but still noisy..buy a louder exhaust so ya nay canna hear it. :nana

lol, nice bit of scottish there aus mate.
they are noisey old units these rotax engines.
my first ride on a vtwin, thought the engine sounded fukd.lol
not half as bad as the sound of a ducati (old washing machine) on tickover tho.

update- just checking over engine found central spark plug on cyl 1 half way out ! could well be the source of the click click click :)

It's a big twin and does vibrate a bit. It would seem that quite often the faults stem from summat shaking loose.

That certainly could give you an extra sound from the engine. :thumbup You prolly hearing compression gases trying to exit the plug hole each cycle. Nice find mate. Hope you gave all plugs a clean, gap resize, thread lube and reseated while you were at it. :nana Cheers, Aj

ive lost several bits due to the vibes,a bolt out of my screen, one out of my numberplate, and i even lost a whole heel guard and both screws last week ffs.
i now constantly check and nip up all the screws and bolts i can get at.

All RSV owners definately need a torque wrench and heed recommended ft.lb/nwtm settings for the appropriate fittings. As bigUN says...these bikes have a vibey engine. For some fittings..1 drop of low/med strength threadlock medium is advised. ( not spark plugs of course :nana but you know that one)
Cheers matey...enjoy that sweet RSV :thumbup

I checked and gapped all the plugs also tightened ht leads up as the plug cap screws onto ht lead, just need a bit of summer weather :(
