Just spent an age cleaning the bike. Those gold rims are an absolute pig to clean!:crazy:banghead

Just thought I would share that!

Gday Patrick,
I use "Baby wipes" they are just as gentle on the rims as they are on our baby's bum:rolleyes. They claen the chain lube and brake dust off a treat.
:cheers Perry

I have the blue OZ wheels and I like to wipe them down with clean engine oil. Looks well and keeps them protected from salt etc. They do get dirty with road dust etc but underneath they are mint. My dad bought a brand new Triumph 500 in 1963 and covered his chrome wheels and spokes in vaselineand when he died 1975 the wheels were like new. They were dirty though.
Stay away from power washers , sponge and bucket. You can get in and hopefuly see anything not normal .

Cheers for that one Perry - will give it a go!

B o B - WD 40 used to be (not sure if they have changed the formula) caustic, and could possibly harm the finish.

I use WD40 on the wheels, and on the plastics to remove sticky tape goo, or track day stickers. I clean it off the plastics after I'm done. Doesn't hurt a thing.
