I've got the Evoluzione race kit which uses a gauze type filter and I use a K&N Recharger Filter cleaner followed by a good drying session then it gets re-oiled with the oil from the cleaning kit. Not sure if the cleaning fluid would work on the Rene kit though, they have foam type filters, yeah?.
