Hi, times are hard and I need to free up some cash so the bike will have to go

Aprilia RSV 1000 R 2005
The bike comes with a Private Irish Number plate
*11 Months MOT
*5 Months Tax
*Service book (Not stamped) and some service receipts including receipt for replacement 2007 engine. 2005 engine was replaced in Ireland.
*Carbon Fibre Front mudguard
*Dyno was recorded to be 121bhp at the back wheel
*Carbon Fibre Wind Deflectors
*Black Double Bubble Screen (original included)
*Akrapovic Exhausts, one has a small crease mark but mostly under the carbon strap. Black Standard cans also available.
*Clear indicators fitted, Standard included
*Head bearings replaced
*New rear bearings and carrier bearings just done.
*New Stator fitted
*Battery is one year old and kept on an optimate.
*New Starter Solenoid
*Oil and filter just done as new Sator fitted. New Starter relay, Replacement Clocks as old ones failed, Pictures of the failed unit.

the bike has some stone chips on the front of the bike not to major. The clocks have bee replaced and as a result mileage has not been saved. (common problem on 2005 RSV) New clocks keep mileage. I have also kept a spreedsheet of all work done on the bike and when the battery use to get discounneted to keep track of the bike mileage., You can compare this with all MOT certificates that come with the bike.

I need to free up some cash so if you have a cheaper bike and want to swap plus some cash, let me know. anything considered. Grab a cheap RSV £2800

the bike runs great with one issue, the engine management light comes on, this is down to the Air temp sensor so the Axeone reports, Not got around to purchasing a sensor yet. easy fix.

looks nice wish i had some spare cash as i've been considering a gen 2 but means selling mine first

Hi fella, what's the approximate total mileage, does it have a UK V5 and am I reading it right that the engine was replaced with an 07 (big valve) motor?

The over all mileage is around 25k. I had the bike shipped over from Northern Ireland and had to get it uk registered. because its was NI it was not classed as an import and was easy to set up. I was asked if I wanted to keep the irish number plate which I thought was cool. I was informed the number plate can be changed to a uk one at a cost so guess its like a private plate.
The receipt states its 2007 engine so guess its the big value one, I know it goes like stink :)
Hope it helps

must be late 2005 as thats the 2006 nose/air intake isnt it? so thats got the bigger valves and newer EFi

I wanted to jump at this, spent more on my 04.. but i really wanted the Ohlins goodness

I know what you mean about the Ohlin kit, but 2750 is a nice cheap starter model :) go on you know what to lol

It's hard to believe it's not been taken in 6 weeks at the peak bike sales time of the year. Wonder if the weather helps? ;)

Have you had much real interest? Is it advertised elsewhere (ebay/autotrader rather than other forums)?

Rob :)

Not on ebay yet but everywhere else I can think of :) Guess the weather is putting people off, I hope.Been offered a couple of a prices but lower than I want to ket it go for. Already dropped down to sell. Had one guy offering me the full asking price but I would have to wait a month for the money.
put it on ebay this weekend and see what happens., 99p no reserve lol

Worth a try, if you get a couple of keen bidders on the day you might get more than you want. I've only sold one bike on ebay but ended up getting more than I'd paid for it the year before. I still don't understand why the bloke would buy a bog-standard, nothing special, 20 year old a bike, unseen, from 200+ miles away. He had to pay a fair bit to have it couriered to him also. It takes all sorts ;)

The weather is certainly putting me off. Mine's been in the garage for over 2 weeks, gathering dust.

Good luck with the sale!

Rob :)

Surprised its not sold at the price. As a comparison, was in Dyrons motorcycles in Leeds today, they've an 06 reg in but 04 model, and the ticket price is £5999.
Waiting for the insurance to sort itself out with mine, then will be looking for another.
