I couldn't make the northern lads ride out last weekend so i did the east midlands rescue ride out in aid of the midlands air ambulance.

I rode with my two brothers and another mate. We were on our 2 rsv's, my younger bro was on his R1 and the last bike was a beemer.

After the ride out we had a stop at Bruntingthorpe proving ground. Did a few runs on the circuit which included standing start runs down the runway. Awesome.

I saw these 3 lovely millies at the melton tea stop. They are all from RSV zone as they were wearing their fleeces (i want one) I recall 2 of their names Electro and New boots but can't remember the third sorry

And the result of the runway pass, There were loads of faster bikes lining up but only an 09 GSXR thou, 08 1098S and my bro's R1 passed me on the runway. I kept the GSX honest up until around 130mph then the 4 cyls top end came in. I even managed to see off a new shape R1 and my brother absolutely slaughtered him. Just goes to show that low end grunt, pilot operation and drive is better than top end power when it counts.

Great pics spud, i think the third zone member will have been sharky as i saw it mentioned on facebook. Did you get to talk to them :dunno smashing fellows, and sharky was the first zone member i met as i bought my mille from his mate, who lives in france, so sharky (andy) was the middleman :thumbup

No i didn't get to talk to them unfortunately. Saw them coming off the runway at bruntingthorpe so i know they did a run. I would be interrested to know what they managed down the straight.:devious

Does anyone have any knowledge of average speed cameras that are used on dual carriage ways and motorways. Am I right in assuming that they only pick up reg no from the front of a vehicle? Assuming this I would think that a motorcycle would be safe. Or is that just a myth? Cheers
