How big of a job is it changing the side stand on the RSV. I have one of bubseywoo's stands to fit and I intend on doing it tomorrow.

I have an abba stand.

Not done it myself but I intend to at some stage. My bike was in for the mot last few days and the bloke stood it right by the wall. He thought it was a ***** stand and figured if it fell the wall would stop it. I hate leaving it out in public. And always half expect to come back and find it on it's side coz a mosquito farted and blew it over.:eatcorn
By the way Dan I kicked your *** in a one track race on facebook yesterday:doug

iv'e welded 1" extension to the 'foot' + reinforced area around 'foot' of the stand (to me it always looked like they welded the foot to the stand wrong poking IN instead of potruding OUT more) as the most common thing seems to be topling completely over the stand especially with the weight of a full tank !

I've e mailed and PM'd bubseywoo to try and get one of his stands with no reply. Is he on holidays per chance?

Is this the fix for the bike being blown over by wind(twice).:angry
Or rolling of the stand(once) while on a slight incline?:angry:angry

Just seems like the stand is too long...............

Installing that stand should take you about 15 mins and it's a complete doddle. Just don't move the sidestand light sensor from its current position or you'll have to take the stand off and turn it back again. Don't forget there's a nut on the back of the main bolt as well (14mm? Can't remember).
And yes, this is the fix for all your sidestand woes - makes it just like a Jap bike!

GSXR stand. 100% fix.

Welded stand heads -your asking for trouble. look at any decent oem stand, all the heads are cast.

GSXR stands pre K4, post about 2000

all engine sizes.

There is a bit of modding to do for the sidestand switch and the bolt thread is different. the thread can be sorted 2 ways. the best involves a touch of weld but you can do it without welding.

When I brought my mille, the guy have me a GSXR Side stand.
How would I go about swapping this over. I do not have access to welding.
the guy has smoothed of the stopping block on the one fitted so the stand comes out more.
This results in the bike leaning over more but its more unstable in the wind. scares the crap out of me. I just know im coming out of work and the bikes on its side one day.

the side stand on from the GSXR has no bolts with it but does have the switch.

I fitted a bubseewoo stand to my `05 plate and it was a peice if pi55. 15 mins at the very most

Have a search on oracle. One of those stands fractured at the head and another started to do likewise but got caught early.

Check it regularly for cracking/bending at the head if you use one

Damn, Just decided to try the new gsxr stand out and it doesnt fit! too long and the bolt holes are to wide apart! must be off a newer one.

On ebay on looking, so I need a GSXR pre 2004 right?
