Hi there people i have a 2002 rsv and heard few people talk about changing sprockets. I was thinking of changing the front to 16t. Wots the pros and cons in doing this ?:dowhat

Faster acceleration but less top end. Some people increase size on the back too.

You may need a longer chain if you increase the size of the back one.

Smaller front may increase chain wear especially if you go down to 15.

You can work out on here all you need to know...http://www.gearingcommander.com/

so 16 would be ok at front and just leave the back. do you have it done ?

16-44 is one of the best combinations for these bikes, you will also still be ok with standard length chain with these aswel.

I just bought Renthal chain and 16/42 sprockets off Tash. Ecxellent service and quick delivery. Made a huge difference to the acceleration too (as if it wasn't fast enough!)

cheers everyone. i will ring in morn. iv seen few vids on doing it so fingers crossed haha

I took the rear shock off to get to the bolts which made it so much easier, but knocked me on time as I decided to clean it and wind some tension off the spring (it was wound right up!) so all of the front pipes are on only the back end to sort next.
