Hi All,
I'm in the middle of changing the rear wheel bearings on my Gen 1 Tuono. Managed to fit the pair in the sprocket carrier without any problems, but seriously struggling to get the other two old bearings out of the hub. I've tried all sorts of things to no avail :banghead. There's just no area of purchase to get a drift onto the back of the bearing and knock it out. My last-resort back-up plan is to weld an old socket to the outside of the inner bearing diameter and put a breaker bar through from the other side, engage it with the inside of the socket and then smack the cr*p out of it. Essentially try to pull it out, by pushing (if that makes sense!)
Can anyone help please? If you've done this bit of maintenance before yourself, I'd really appreciate some pointers on what to try before going down this route!
Cheers.
