changed my oil and filter yesterday and put a 16 tooth sprocket on instead of the 17 now when your in 4th or 5th clutch slips about 7000rpm, i used a good quality semi 15/50, any ideas????:dunno

check the condition of the hydraulic fluid in the clutch reservoir, it quite probably needs bleeding and giving new fluid

you didnt change from fully synthetic to part synthetic did you?

sometimes i find it just slips a little for a while after changing oil but goes away after a few rides

good luck

Obviously depending on the mileage on your bike it could be that the spocket size change has just shown up the fact that your clutch is worn out.

Aprilia advise against fully synthetic but you've gone the other way?

the bike has done 11000 miles and as far as i can see from the service records semi synth has been used and the oil i put in was silkolene comp 4, 15w-50 synthetic ester based 4 stroke oil for high performance bikes, least thats what it says on the tin!! 3.8 litres
out of curiosity how much are new clutches just in case i need one, thanks for the advise so far

Note on clutches - replace with OEM original clutch pack...they are pretty cheap and easy to install. $160 USD

MUST USE SEMI-SYNTHETIC...NOT FULL SYNTHETIC - change it out and lesson learned!

I've just used Comp 4 15-50 (semi-synthetic) in mine, should be ok, never use fully synthetic, apparently it causes clutch slip. Also, i've heard that you shouldn't fill completely to the max line? Not personal experience, just what i've heard.
