Has anyone got a Chain riveter/breaker and is local to me I would able to use for the afternoon?

Local bike shop want to charge me £10 to Break and rivet my new chain! Having a laugh

Is it a soft link on the join or a steel pin ?

If it's the steel type a normal tool probably won't do it. I use a grinder to break them. Takes 10 secs.

If it helps i am travelling up to Sussex tomorrow morning so can possibly drop some stuff off and pick it up on sunday on the way back if that's any help

It's sort of en route depending where in Wilts you are.

Chers buddy, havent managed to get one yet. going to sort one out next week. what do you recommend? chain wise. not much in the pocket but want it to last :)
X ring O ring?

X ring will certainly last longer.

You either take the view that you spend less but change more often or the other way round.

In terms of make DID ,Tsubaki etc will be the best but not the cheapest.

BigCC sells em so they must be okay....................

"EK Chain products
EK Chain is the chain of choice for top level drag racers the world over"

Been offered on for a good price will get that one then. go to shorten it as its 120 link :) or lenthen my swingarm lol:

Well I got the chain today. 110 link so will need to take out 2 links. its an O ring with steel link.
Anyone can help at all or should I just book the bike in and pay the guys £15 to do it?
£15 I thought was a little steap, then again I guess he has to remove the old chain, remove 2 links off he new chain and join the new one up and adjust the wheel. maybe a fair price then :)
