Chain for late 02/03 model RSVR

Adam

I need a new chain but the sprockets on look ok.

Rear supersprox 42 tooth and front 15 tooth.

Am i right in thinking the correct chain size as standard to be 525 wide and 108 length?

With it being what i believe is down 2 on the front should i go to a 106 or stick with a 108?

My chain is backed all the way out at present and still has too much slack....

The bikes an 03 RSVR with the close ratio box if that effects anything?...

Thanks

I doubt a 106 would fit, sounds like your chain is probably at the end of its life.

525 is the right pitch and a 108 is standard length.

Usualy its smart to change the sprockets too when changing the chain, even if they look oke, otherwise the new chain will have a "shorter life-span", it all depends how many milles are on your current sprockets. I would change then anyway

If you have you current setup all the way to the back, than it would probably be good to have a shorter chain, if you decide to keep it.

If you change the sprockets, go for a 16/44 setup and a 110 link chain, it will give you the same ratio as you have now, but you will get more milles out of your front sprocket.

I recomend DID ZVM2 chain. Standard is 108link and 525
