Hello all,
Would anyone with experience of these two racetracks have any advice on whether general admission is the go vs grandstands etc? I think Mr Nob had an write-up on the old forum on Misano (Moto GP?) that was lost in the server crash. I'll be there for SBK. I'm happy to walk round tracks to experience a few different views if that's is possible at these venues. lodgings are all booked for Barcelona and some joint on the coast, San Marco . Any advice appreciated.
PS I.ve never been to Europe and I'm quite nervous of Gypsies
Cheers,
Tim

Just go to Misano, its mint. Reasonably inexpensive for grub and ale. Our digs were £35 a night and good value. The paddock walk is easy enough to do, you'l see loads of riders milling about. Good night time stuff with music and vintage Gp bikes, ace people watching in the bars. They absolutely worship Vale, you can go to Tavulia and see his family home. We met his dad, loads of riders, current and past etc. I'm hoping to get back their this year but Mrs End wants to go to Mugello.
We stayed at Misano Brasilia, pm me for more details if you decide to go there. I've got a room provisionally booked, if I don't go it'll be available but you won't struggle for digs.

Vale on a Duc at his home track, fookin religeous experience a tell thi.

If you go to Catalunya you will need to get a seat. Very limited viewing without one.
We had a good walk round on the saturday and only found 1 or 2 places you could stand about and watch.

That said, all the grandsatands are top notch viewing, loads of Jumbotron TV's scattered about, ( i could count 9 from my seat alone )

As for somewhere to stay, The seaside aint that far, only a 10 min ride from the track.

My next away trip will possibly be Misano, If Mugello is anything to go by then it will be a good weekend.

WSB at Misano will be a lot quieter than the GP.We usually buy tickets on the gate and not bother with a grandstand ticket. The weather is usually scorchio so you'll wanna get out of that sun.The only covered stands are on the last couple of corners and they are pretty pricey for not such a good view. One of the best places to watch is on the back straight banking, just on the flat out right kink. You can see a good portion of the track here, loads of food/drink stalls and a big screen so you dont miss owt.
If you go by bike, you can park inside the circuit.By car,you can park in the local farmers feild for a few Euro.Keep yer parking ticket,...no ticket,no car.
Accomodation is plentiful in the area,....its by the sea, innit. We usually stay in the Rivazurra district in Rimini.Nightlife is fantastic and there is a great bikers bar,...Red Devil Motors.
The Italians are super friendly people and will go out of their way to help, wish I was going again this year.

Their I go again getting all excited. Wsbk not Gp, what a nob. Agree with Keef, them forrinerrs prefer the Gp's. Wsb at Assen is like a club event compared to MotoGp.

Thanks gents,
Pinny, yes think we'll look for a stand then
Keith, we are staying at Cattolica for SBK (san marco is the hotel, can,t read itineries prop !)
looks like we'll go for stand H in catalunya and open slather in san marino.
Nob yer no nob and nowhere near a excited as me at the moment.
This is the wifes' 40th celebration ,she wanted to spend her birthday in Paris and threw in two motorcyle events on the side to sweeten the deal.
the woman is a saint !!!
in London 28/5 and 16/6 if anyone is in town for a beer,
Cheers,
Tim

Catolica's a little bus ride away from Misano Brasilia. Get on and stop at a couple of little ice cream/pizza bars as you approach. On the opposite corner is a bar with some chairs outside. Go there Friday or Saturday night and you'll probably see Frankie Chili and maybe a couple of others milling about. He's a friendly enough lad Fwanky.

Yep, Gelati then beer ,two of my favourite things ,will do
cheers
