I'm up for CC again a week Wednesday - anyone else?

Moth-balls after that for six months:thumbdown

newbie, just signed up, haven't even got the bike yet (later this week). But from past experience CC is horrendous for noise, I'd imagine quite a few RSVs would have issues up there - good luck, who is organising on the 7th? Motorcycle Folly by any chance? :)

Fraid the doors have already closed folks.

It's with CC circuit - not The Folly.

Yes, the noise limits are low - the lowest I've ever been at: 105dBA@[email protected] i.e. 3/4 max revs regardless of make, whereas other circuits are a lot higher: Oulton=102dBA@[email protected], Donington=98/105dBA@trackside.

As CC is my local and I want to ride there frequently, this is the reason I have to ride with stock cans - even though my soul cries out for an EVO-6! My stock cans come in at 102-105dBA depending on the conditions of the day.

BTW, it doesn't seem to be the case that Akras are louder. I've seen someone with slip-ons check OK.

The biggest downer for CC is that they're limited (by the parish council) to 12 riders at a time. With so few on track at once, they don't assign the groups by skill level - though they try to put novices together in the same group. This means that you only get 12mins/hour on track for your money! I don't know how The Folly organise their day, but they run skill groups.

Strewth! CC's not cheap either. Gotta say that, although I really did find it 'Britain's Friendliest Circuit' and the people are really nice, I did it in a Formula Ford and came away without much enthusiasm for taking my bike round there as it's not the most exciting circuit in the world.
But then it is the only local one we can get on because Thurxton's neighbours are an even worse bunch of wankers:jack
Have fun and I may try and get down to watch you:thumbup

...it's not the most exciting circuit in the world.
Sure it's no Oulton or Cadwell, and the LHS of the tyre seldom sees any wear (i.e. it never gets any heat in it), but some of the corners are real gems: Quarry, Old Paddock and Tower. Add to that the thrill one of the longest almost-straights in the country (0.7km) taking you from Camp Ex at 80 to Avon Rise BP at 145, it can be very satisfying to ride.

Do come and say hello if you're there... think green (green bike, green leathers, green car).

HMMMM cud be up for this one.

CC is just 3 miles from home, doing rockingham tomorrow 4/10 so if i dont bin my milli

And i can find some funds i will be there.

BRG look out for me mate.

Okey dokey.

Didn't quite figure from your post whether you've already booked or are expectin' to just turn up and join in?? Be advised that CC Circuit is posting 'fully booked'.

The Met Office is showing 14mph WNW + sunny intervals - yeah right, I'll be takin' my rain wheels!

BRG I feel sorry for your bud, the forecast isn't looking good but if you have wets its still good fun.

Don't you just get a warm feeling of confidence in the Met Office forecasts? They're now posting heavy rain showers, wind 12mph NE.

You're right, rain tyres are still good fun. What is the real pain is changeable weather, as it takes me and Mrs BRG about 15 mins to change wheels.

Things wouldn't be too bad if there were any pit garages at CC (or mains power for tyre warmers for that matter), but as it is, one's out in the open. It'll cost me extra brownie points to get Mrs BRG to do her brolly dolly bit!:inlove

Last time at CC I stayed on rains with a drying track, stupidly not sparing the horses; result? Rear tyre trashed in 10 minutes! Hey, it's only dosh!

(See what I mean about CC being mostly right-handers!)

tut tut! They are ok in the dry if its winter but in the summer they end up like that lol! You better get on ebay and get a new rear!

The following schedule is typical:
08:00 Soundchecks & registration
08:30-09:00 Briefing
09:00-09:30 Sighting laps
09:30-12:30 Morning sessions
12:30-13:30 Lunch
13:30-16:30 Afternoon Sessions

Met Office true to form... :thumbdown
They said: light rain all day
We said: dry morning; solid med/heavy rain all afternoon.
So: a game of two halves. Drying to dry in the morning and solid rain in the afternoon (which IMHO is a lot better than showers!)

Nice to see a few Priliys there. A couple of brothers on pre-2004 Milles, another guy on a pre-2004 Mille (and mate on a 916) and a guy on an 06 Tuono...and me.

Not the fastest of days, but nonetheless enjoyable.

Oh, BTW, my stock cans came in at 103 dBA. A guy with Akra slip-ons (baffle fitted) also 103 dBA.

Think you were lucky with the morning mate - 30 miles up the road and we had rain here all day. Glad you had fun.

Ironic innit?

Today, a mere 10 miles away in Bath, I was walkin' around in a T-shirt in bright sunshine.
