Carbon fiber brake and clutch resevoir caps

Have any of you guys heard of or seen carbon fiber resevoir caps? They are not covers to go over the originals. They are whole new covers. Im concerned about how well they will seal and how well they will withstand brake fluid. Thoughts? :dunno

There are ducati 848/1098 versions on Ebay and they use the same cap as aprilia. The seal is not made by the cap but by the rubber cover inside the cap which will transfer over from the original. The fluid shouldn't actually be directly in contact with the Carbon.

Yes, those are the ones. I was going to include that link to show what I was talking about but then I didn't because I didn't want anyone else to "discover" them before I bought them. I have the rest of the day to convince my wife to let me buy them.

Before you buy them have you PM'd Boyler to see if he can make them any cheaper for you and us all if we do a bulk buy??

May be something he may consider if we all agree to purchase from him all our carbon fibre for the next 20 years.

I'd like a set but can't justify spending £40 on them.

Love the look of them but again £40 is to much for me for something so little. Carbon ears are about that from Russ lol... £20 delivered maybe

I'm in the US and I'm not sure how the conversion goes. It's alot here but not obscene or anything. She hasn't gave me the ok on this one yet though, damnit!

I bought a pair of these last year - look great, fit great, no problems. Ask if he'll include a third cap for the rear res.http.

That's a great idea. If he makes them then it prob wouldn't cost him much more and I could justify the expense a little easier.

I could be interested in something like this. They *look* easy to fit but like all things mechanical, its voodoo to me! Is it really as simple as unscrewing the ones that are there and replacing them with these? Do i have to worry about pressure or anything?

oh and by ears, are you guys refering to the odd lumps on the top front fairing - the bits between headlights and screen on the sides?

oops..erm. I have the carbon caps, they were well made, easy to fit, are a good fit and have had no probs. I didnt fit the ears to mine, dont like the look.

PS- if well made, the ears are a piece of piss to fit.Just use a rubber washer and they can be screwed up tight enough, or use the aprilia screen peg assemblies
