Anyone ever got an exhaust from this place?

http://www.aa16.co.uk/

My friend got one at BMF saturday and its well made and sounds very good (on a cbr rr 600)

plan to get a carbon oval on my 2003 mille prob normal length as heard the stubby ones are a pain to get the fueling right.

on another note..

told a guy at work i want a carbon can for my aprilia mille and he recons the power of the twin will damage the carbon?? anyone heard of this?

I've heard that too, reason i never put any on my old TLR, i had aluminium microns and the vibrations/twin-ness (lol) still ruined all the rivets, cans were pretty useless from then on, could re rivet but lasted no more than a week, although the old microns have the worst construction (rivets inside the can)

mmm me thinking i need some sort of warrantee that this may not happen from the guy selling them.

least then if it does i can get it sorted.

i really dont want to have to re-map the bike too, doya recon il need to?

I am of the impression that if you have twin cans on your V twin carbon is fine. I had twin yoshimura carbon cans on my TL1000R and had absolutely no problems.

The engine 'pulses' from two cylinders going through a single exit exhaust can damage a carbon can so I have heard. Dont know how true it is but I didn't take the chance and went fo titanium.

:eatcorn a quality set of carbon cans will be fine, I have Arrow C-Cans on mine and have had zero problems with them, tho compared to some C-cans I've seen the thickness of carbon is immense..

as said above, its much worse when your running a single can,if 2 into 2 it obviously halves the pulses going through.
all twins bugger their cans eventualy from what ive heard,my aprilia titanium can has just expired, all but blew the rivets out and the end cap off the back and all the baffles have come loose inside.
i could be wrong,as im new to twins tho.

Carbon cans should be fine ...... BUT ....... as with all other cans be aware, you really do get what ya pay for :confused

What ya gotta bear in mind with the carbon cans is the resin thats used to construct the can ( or should i say the sleeve ) ........ cheap resin = cheaper can.

What i mean by this is there are loads of resin manufacturers out there, each with there own resin systems. A good resin is likely to be cured to a high temperature ..... probably between 80 degs to 150 degs. These resins are expensive but less likely to warp / ripple or discolour, especially when the can suffers from heat build up.

A cheaper resin will probably have been cured at a lower temperature cure or even just had a time cure ...... not good if the can is going to suffer heat build up.

My advice would be to stick with a decent name and don't go to cheap ....... Then ya should be fine :thumbup
