Cant start bike in gear??

Funny thing happened today.

Picture it

Bike in gear.......clutch pulled in. I go to start the bike up and when i hit the starter button all i get is like the fuel pump arming sound.

dunno

When i put it in Neutral it starts no problem.

As far as I know it used to start in gear.

WTF x 8 times

Hey areessmile have you checked the kick stand switch . mine was dirty and it did the same thing I got the clump of grease of it and it worked fine . I hope you get it sorted it should work with the clutch pulled in and in gear.donnie

I bypassed the sidestand switch so it shouldnt be that.

Hmmmmmm

Im wandering if its the switch behind the clutch lever thats causing the problem.

Have you washed it recently and dislodged the clutch switch?

I did this shortly after buying mine!

hi try and put it in gear and start it without pulling the clutch in if it just buzzes same as when its pulled its definately the clutch switch mine went their not expensive but can be adjusted so just check it hasnt screwed itself in all the best.

whats the symptoms of a bad clutch switch? i had bunch of brake fluid draining on mine due to a bad seal of my clutch. how can i test the switch is it open/close circuit or does it work as a variable resistor? where can i find a rubber seal for the clutch to the reservoir tank tube? thanks

thank you aeresmill for the advice! and Donnie yes you were right! I connected the wrong cables ( black and green = no go! lol) (black and brown = good) I'm going to solder my sensor back however I just got bigger fish to fry these days!
here's the details about my problems for the diagnostic codes 11 & 12 and bad starter selenoid and kickstand sensor not being present!

just solved my mystery not-starting-in-gear issue

no fekkin clutch switch on my bike:dunno

i will pull some panels off to find the wires then get a switch for it
