eh?

The superbike stand I have lifts the rear. I thought the idea of this was to even the balance to enable front lift?

They do a lift which goes under the front to transfer the wieght I usally use a trolley jack under the front Iam not sure if the mille is solid enough to jacked up.
It is the same on all the bikes I have used it on but the Jap 4,s the exhaust can be used to jack it from

Mate have you clicked the link I posted?

I have the superbike stand, I am asking specifically about the front lift?

http://www.abbastands.co.uk/product_details.asp?id=2

Site mentions use of jap 4's, but there is no reason this won't lift the front end of the mille is there?:dunno
:thumbupHad one of there stands brill kit, mine was the centre main stand which i used for RF900R then paid £10 when got CBR600RR for spacer to fit that bike.
The front stand is to use with the main abba stand, and in my veiw waste of money, because any wood and jack does the same. But main stand top kit.

Dan, if your later Mille is like my 01 your bellypan will cover the whole of the bottom of the engine, leaving you nowhere to use the front stand on.

I have the main abba stand I ask them about the front and they dont reccomend them for the rsv only a normal front padock stand but once the fairings off you can use a jack and bit of wood if you want to work on the front end

If you need to get the front wheel off etc, I find it "safer" to put the bike on the ABBA stand and rachet the back of the bike down using a couple of eyelets I screw onto the floor.
The strap also keeps the bike rock solid when you're working on it.

Yeah I have rang abba, and they told me it is not a god idea to use this stand on the Aprilia, as they are designed with the Jap bikes in mind.

So order cancelled and its time for the car jack and a lump of wood!!!

Hey, thanks for the thread - I was tempted to buy one of these front stands at the bike show recently (I've had the main Abba stand for a few years & it's great) but decided against as I thought it was over-priced - good decision.

When we transported our bikes to and from the truck to Spain on our recent trip, we just bunged them in the van, fitted the Abba stands and then strapped the stands fore and aft - saved a lot of messing around and they were rock solid.
