Always pissin down with rain Sussex
Cos I'm skint, decided to re-shim the valves myself as two were below tolerance :roll what a pain in the arse job, should have paid the £100.00 to have it done. Anyway got it all shimmed & put back together ok but 2 things worry me any advice would be much appreciated.
1. At TDC with the lock bolt in on both pots the IN EX marks dont line up exactly when the tensioner in, if the chains a bit slack I can back them up a little & they line up but as soon as the tensioner takes up the slack they go out of line but it's not as much as 1 tooth, is this normal.
2. I think the front cam chain tensioner is knackered :confused because as I crank the engine over by hand as it goes past TDC the tensioner clicks back and the chain goes slack at the front ie: the tensioner doesn't seem to be able to keep the chain tight.
The rear tensioner keeps the chain tight all the time. Is this because there is no oil pressure or is it fooked.
Thanks
