Afternoon all - I'm new but hopefully going to become one of you...

I'm in the market to change my bike and fancy a RSV. I've got a test ride on a Factory on Sat and then we'll see what kind of deal can be done.. I'll buy an 07 (either new or used).

Also - anynews on the 08 bike and will it be any different?

Anyway - I need advice on what can go wrong with them mechanically? I've heard clutch and or back brake can be a problem, but have they been solved with new ones now? What goes wrong with them? Anything else?

Also - opinions on the best replacement cans (with removable baffles to still be legal ) so I can appreciate its full symphony!! :biggrin

Ta in advance :roost

yes arrows sound sweet :drool :biggrin

V8 - You got me ;) Have asked in a couple of places. I actually acted on your note to join here. :thumbup The interface is better on this than visordown!

rsvr47 - i hope I can contain the joy enough to do a bit of a deal rather than looking too eager. They are selling factories at £8499 at the mo - seems like a good deal I think...

The arrows do look better I think - are the akro's easier to take the baffles out on or are they much of a muchness?

I have Acro cans and they are easy to take the baffles out. 2 min job. If you were to wait for the 2008 model to come out the 2007s will go down in price.

Anyone had the seat sorted to be more comfy - ie extra foam etc? Can you get bigger seats or do you just send the original one off to a seat company for adjustment?

I think the seat is very comfortable for a sportsbike-seat. Made some long day trips on my bike (200-300 mls) and never had a sore bum...

Thats good to know - my first impression when sitting on one last week was that the seat is quite thin, but I have a Daytona 650 and the seat is really good so i think i've been spoilt..

Anyone had their seat thickened or adjusted? :dunno

thed oe seat is pretty good although it tend s to get raggedy around the edge stitching once the seat has been off and on a bit. I bought a Sargent seat for mine, its grippier, more comfortable and is dished at the back with a slight lip so when you are fully back in the seat its miles better

I am reasonably tall so doesn't bother me but I have heard that some find the RSVR tall and so adding extra padding on the seat would make it even worse. I find that the seat is massive but thats cos I am used to riding a race bike with just a bit of foam and on the RSVR the first few times I was pressed up against the tank with the other half hanging on behind me.

I'm 6ft 1 so height is not a problem.

The missus is too short to ride it tho :thumbup

I'm test riding on Sat so will make a judgement then, wont stop me buying it, but I'll get a seat ordered if required.

I am impressed with the amount of aftermarket kit you can get for the RSV i have to say!
