Besides the sidestand mod, I also put a new chain and sprockets on, which involved spending most of Saturday cleaning oily **** off with a toothbrush and parrafin!
Very satisfying when it's done and your in the pub afterwards though! It meant that I also got a chance to check the rear wheel and sprocket carrier bearings and to shove loads of grease in to stop water getting in. With the new chain installed and adjusted, I can actually get neutral quite easily.
I found some rust (!) on the oil tank:
I rubbed it down and slapped some hammerite on for now. I may have to take it off and paint it properly. Has anyone else seen similar on their bike?
I also fitted the RS125 mirrors and now in terms of rear vision, it's like driving a Volvo! That's he only similarity though. I dont have pics of this at the moment, but will post some soon. The quick release fittings for the seat also went on, for easy access to the battery etc.
I also cleaned and re-oiled the air filter and noticed a definate improvement - seemed to run a lot smoother. I found I had to adjust the idle down a bit after this as it was at about 1500.
Also gave her a bloody good wash and ACF50 ing - she's even more stunning now. She was a beautiful ornament for a while after the wash, as she wouldn't start for a while, until the ACF50 came along! They really don't like the wet do they! :biggrin
