I've just noticed a build up of oily smeg around the front of my engine, and i've lost about 1/2 a cup of oil in around 1500 miles. Does anyone know of any common leak locations on these things? I know i'm gonna have to strip it down anyway but any comments would be appreciated.

Yep as above, cam covers. Happened on both milles. Quick nip and clean problem sorted.

Awesome, that's what i was hoping, cheers guys. fingers crossed that's all it is, and it didn't actually lose as much oil as i thought, as when I re-checked it after a 8-10 mile ride, I had to remove as much as i'd just topped it up by to get the level down again, i really should read the manual.:jack

If it's not leaking from there check the water pump vent hole, you can get oil or water coming out depending on which seal has gone :thumbup

It must be just a very slight weep rather than a leek as i hadn't actually lost oil after all, i'm still hoping it's the cam cover gasket.

:jackJust noticed my spelling, there are definately no vegetables in my bike, maybe just the one riding it, i meant leak, not leek.
