Buffing out scratches on cans

Hi all,

When I got off the bike this morning I noticed there are a few scuffs on my left end can. I fear I might have done this but not certain. They dont look deep at all just like a scuff on the surface, am I right in thinking I could sand this and polish out with autosol? Are there any good tips for getting grazes off metal surfaces back to mirror finish? Many thanks!

I once managed to rub/polish out the "Not for road use " engraving on a Remus stainless can when I had a CCM R30.

LOTS of rubbing with progressively finer wet & dry followed by Solvol, came out a treat.

Don't know who it would kid tho' you could hear it coming for miles, I once started it up in the garage ( about 35 yards from the house) and the wife thought it was the police chopper overhead . :jack Bless

Haha class, I was hoping someone might reassure me. Im gonna give it a once over with autosol first and see what its like first. It really is just light on the surface so fingers crossed it wont be too bad.

i use this on my wheels halford sell it too

Right, I had to go home as I was getting a shed fitted so I thought id give autosol a go. The can in question looks new again (Thanks god) it took 2 applications but is back to a mirror finish. Thanks for the help dudes :)

glad you sorted it :thumbup
but if it happens again and not so easy to get out with autosol on its own try an old green pad on the back of a spunge with autosol first then autosol on it's own worked for me in the past
