Brunstrom Strikes Again

OMG have you read this?

Brunstrom strikes again against motorcycles.

Glad I don't live near this *****.

Brunstrum has got his radical policing ways and they appear very heavy handed towards motorcylists. The motorcycle community and press do take a very dim view of his methods and report this as so, however there are some complete idiots out there taking the piss, riding at speeds on public roads that not only cause danger to themselves but to other road users. I'm not taking about 100mph here or there on clear open roads but those who ride way in excess of this, ignoring speed restrictions in passing villages and towns and generally ride as in utter contempt for others.

In this case, to have a number plate with one digit different from the bike's original registration plate is a clear attempt to disguise the bike's identity and stop any licence endorsements and fines from reaching the owner. In fact some poor innocent other rider will probably receive them instead. You could argue that the rider was completely unaware that his plate was incorrect however in reality there would be very few issolated cases of this.

So i have no sympathy at all for this guy. There is probably more to the story than is reported as there nearly always is, he was more than likely taking the piss in the first place.

I agree, this guy was obviously attempting to disguise the bikes true identity for some reason.

It is these guys that give the rest of us a bad name, however Brunstrom's policing methods are almost Gastapo like in regards to bikers.

Hope he decides to retire soon.

I agree with ya 100%

Different style letters and size of plate is one thing....But the WRONG numbers...something to hide in my opinion

Is this for real or have been editing it Mr RSV Ecosse?

You can't go giving us all hope that this knob is soon to disappear and then reveal it all as an elaborate hoax.

Roll on Christmas 2009, hey!

Well, we can only hope, but he has certainly "backtracked" on the announcement that he would be retiring, so who knows what to believe?.

I wouldn't trust him with a wheelbarrow, so just keep yer fingers crossed.

From what I have heard, there are quite a few people who move in much more powerful circles than him, who think the time has come for him to go very soon indeed. ;)

Agreed, Johnny.

Some riders are complete knob ends with no common sense or consideration for other road users.

What I will say though is Brunstrom's attitude and methods of dealing with bikers on a whole, stinks.

There are good bikers all over the UK.

There are also, unfortunately, a small minority of arseholes on two wheels, also all over the UK.

However Brunstrom consistently hits the headlines because of his silly bully-boy tactics that are quite clearly innefective and only used in order to grab controversial coverage in the media.

The Chief Constable in my force area has one of the most dangerous roads in the country under hisduty of care ( I say that with tongue firmly in cheek, roads inherently are not dangerous - its some of the road users on "said" road that are ) yet he hasn't attempted to implement anything remotely similar as Brunstrom has in order to fulfill that duty of care within the remit of his obligations as a Chief Officer.

I saw my brother in law today, he told me of his mate was following a couple of Ninjas in a 30 limit, they stopped at the lights, when they went green the bikes shot off, hitting over 100mph in a 30. The guy at the back never made the bend, hit a wall and lost his face, his brain and his life.
my wife was saying how dangerous bikes are, when in fact it is the rider 100% of the time.
Of course we ride bikes fast, but where conditions allow.
I think North Wales has more than it's share of accidents but I see no tie up between police presence on dangerous roads.
I live 2 miles from the A530 Nantwich to middlewich where there have been 10 deaths in 3 years, I have never seen any police there to slow people down in all the time I have lived in the area

to add some balance for th eguy with one digit wrong.

the insurance mistyped my reg, i didnt notice?? the post office didnt notice and taxed it, twice on the wrong reg. So in theory at least I ran around for two year untaxed and uninsured and dvla didnt notice and issue me with a tax demand

Tend to agree with LEGS on this one, if you have an illegal number plate in any form then you're really asking to be nicked although Brunstrom is undeniably an F...ing C... as he as shown time and time again and appears to be unfairly prejudice towards motorcyclists.

Furthermore the last paragraph worried me as it said they would impound bikes without charges being made which is very dodgy and is almost dictatorial to be honest. I'm also not sure that impounding bikes without charges is really a legitmate way of clamping down on anti-social behaviour as they put it. I can obviously see that hooning around on your bike like a prat isn't particularly sociable and I would imagine that the police could justifably charge you for that and take your bike away but I don't like the idea they can do it without any offence being comitted, so essentially because they felt like it.

LOL, my wife drove round in our Citroen C8 for 3 years before I realised that the actual number plates on the vehicle didn't match the V5. Only time I get to see the car is when it needs a service or MOT.

And she'd been pulled by the boys in blue for a spot check. LOL they missed it too.

LOL. Says alot really doesn't it. Glad she didn't get any grief from the fuzz for what it's worth although I wonder if your wife would have "got away with it" as it were if she'd been on a bike. Who knows.
