Just worked out that my rear tyre aint gonna last my Spain/France trip in Sept, question is ,his anyone running this size & does it rub the chain,I used to run a 190/50 qualifier & that rubbed the chain ,but I m running a 180/55 016 at the moment & was wondering ,with the width of the rims on an 03 milleR does it spread the tyre out ,if you know what I mean, because Ive got no chicken strips at all,but have never got my knee down or foot pegs,I just dont wanna run out of tyre while playing in the mountains, this year, also I have on a occasion torn the rear quite badly, looks like its been on the track & was thinking that the 190/55 would give me a bigger contact patch with rougthly the same profile, sorry its another bloody tyre thread, but I dont want it rubbing the chain with the larger tyre & I dont wanna be running out of rubber with the smaller one :dunno

there is a very small amount of rsvr's with 5.5 rims out there on which a 190 is a tight fit but not many. Most have 6" rims and the 190/55 is generally fine on those.

The 190/55 steeper profile should make it the best of 190 and 180 with the bigger contact patch but a similar profile to the 180.

I will run the bt016 in spain myself this year but i have a 5.5 rim so will run a 180

Thanks Spoonz, just wandering if the 190/55 will rub the chain, dont like the thought of it rubbing while in a right hand corner on light throttle

i've got bt002's 190/55 on mine and no scrubbing, fair bit of clearance to be honest
