Is it just me or Batlax 014 not that good? I only picked up my bike on Monday after a break from bikes for about 6/7 years, I dont want to sound like a :jack but when I had my ZX7R before I could through round all over and get me knees down but that was on Dunlops, these just dont seem to feel right, they feel a little bit washy on slow bends or going into r/bouts at slowish speeds:confused. Is it me or are they not that good for the RSV, I'm not up to scratch on tyres or type of tyres for this bike, all I do know is that I used to swear by Dunlop and never riden Bridgestones before:dunno

Got 014's on my Factory and I like them.

Check your pressures and also suspension set-up. My bike felt like an old pig until I had it properly set-up

Cheers V8, I'll have a go with the suspension, that did feel a bit soft and wollowey at the front, never had adjustable suspension before.:dunno:confused

When you had a blast on mine on Monday though you mentioned the suspension though so that might be what I'm feeling, misinterpreting it as the tyres fault, not looking forward to this suspension thing at all.

Pay a few quid and let a pro do it for you, these things handle like buses if you screw it up.

Cheers V8, does anyone know of anyone near Newcastle or Sunderland and how much it will cost please??

Had Bridgestones on mine after pirelli wore out, and I hated the Bridgestones, had a few slappers crossing white lines/cats eyes and generally didn't inspire confidence..Have now got Pirelli Corsa 111's on and it handles like its on rails..But jesus do they wear quick.. 1500 miles

i dont know what ZX7R you had, but mine had fully adjustable suspension front and rear as standard. and was reputed to be the finest front end of any production bike in 1996 when they came out.

I had a 03 Heroblob, but never realised it was adjustable, I bought it from new and just ran it as it came from the shop, but it was brilliant to through around corners and r/abouts.

Thats the problem isn't Mark, I cann't afford new tyres every 1500 miles, especially as I will be doing a bit of motorway mileage on it it.

Neither can I after being forced to work part time at the mo...But the Bridgestones were dangerous..
But my bike does get ridden pretty hard, and also have a pillion most of the time, so with gentler use and less weight, you should be able to get a lot more mileage out of a set of tyres.

I hope so :thumbup, going to try and find somewere for the suspension now, I dont know if its a good thing or a bad thing all this adjustable stuff, I'm probably going get told off now for that, maybe it's just me but I think some people fiddle with it without knowing what there doing and sometimes they dont even have to touch the stuff:dunno Or am I just a :jack lol

Dave the best thing to do with your suspension is get your owners manual out and make sure every thing is set to standard and then take it from there

I agree with Bear, check everything is set to standard settings as per the owners manual. Check compression, rebound and preload, you'll be surprised how previous owners fiddle about with suspension settings. Your RSVR factory is one of the best handling bikes on the road bar none. Check your tyre pressures. Set them to the Aprila recommended pressures of 2.5 bar rear, 2.2 bar front ( 36psi rear, 32 psi front ) and see how you get on. Personnally i don't like the pressure this low, i prefere to run 42psi rear 36psi front which is recommended by the tyre manufacturer for this bike. I have more feel on these pressures on the road but it's all down to personnal preference. If you want an excellent tyre that will last try Michelin pilot powers.

Cheers Legs, the problem is I dont have the owners manual, I'm now trying to sort out the ******* rev limiter because I've been told I might have reset it by accident trying to reset the soding clock:confused

No probs, my bet it's not the tyres. Pretty much all tyres these days are far more than capable than the riders especially on the road. It's only on the track that the real differences can be felt. I'm sure it just need setting up properly.
