Breakdown Cover

My National Breakdown Bike breakdown cover is up for renewal next month and I was considering its time for a change as the premium came back at £75 with 2 years no call out bonus.

What does anyone else use. I am tempted to wait until the insurance is due and get cover with that as it is cheaper. However I have heard the cover that you get this way is *****.

Basically I want to get home from anywhere in a emergency and not have some "mechanic" turn up who knows fcuk all about bikes.

We all know how these lovely bikes tend to play up every now and then so I can't even consider not having it.

I'm with the AA but touch wood have not had to use them for a long time, last time was for a breakdown on my Blade, electrical fault (Alarm) the AA guy spent a good hour on it before giving up..

I've been with National and the RAC when I had a Rover, so had to use them both, they seem to use the same sub contractors mostly..You'll see breakdown trucks with stickers on for most of the well know companies.

The AA use mostly their own, BUT they're not keen on recovering after a crash. (Not sure what the other firms do)_

My renewal in April was £68..Like a lot of companies these days, they will haggle to compete to a degree..

There are specialist bike recovery companies that advertise in the bike press, no idea about their cost or service, as they may not do a car cover..The AA covers you rather than the vehicle..
