goldfren pads

dont use em!!

totally unreliable ive just chucked another set away as they are garbage!!

the friction material is uneven causing a long stroke on the lever and the braking effect is rubbish!

another example of buy cheap buy twice!

Sbs sintered all the way, £55 inc delivery for a full set of 4 pad fronts.

hmm had issues with them too..they faded like fook after some hard use but to be honest it was on the trackday...

still **** the life outta me and im not even a fast rider!

buy cheap buy twice!

I wouldn't call SBS pads a cheap brand, we have sold 100's of sets for road, track and race and never had any complaints. I have just done 4 days on track in Almeria and the brakes never faded once, if they are good enough for BSB/ World super bikes and many more race series, then I am not going to argue with them.

I think Griff was referring to those in the ebay link - at least I hope he was !!

I have always used SBS after some bad experiences with lifeless EBC crap, 30+ trackdays on SBS plus huge commuting miles (not all of it at sane speeds either) and no issues. I did change to Bendix pads and dont like them , they are vague and provide poor feedback I will be going back to SBS over the winter.

sorry lads the SBS pads faded llike a bastard on the trackday...im only saying it as i see it ..

tash ....with respect we dont get to see the same pads that checa et al does now do we! yes ive had the sales patter from rep too,in fact the chap from the factory that was with him took the pads that faded back for analsys, because i mentioned it too him!

the sintered pads faded on my bike on a track day, the carbon ones were amazing but i imagine theyd be a bit snatchy in the wet , in the dry....awesome!

the SBS are hardly cheap are they , and yes i was referring to the cheap **** on ebay.....dangerous!

Can any one help me with brake pads for track days. I have purchased a set of PFM cast iron disc,to up grade my brakes I'm not sure what pads i should use can any one recommend any .i was looking at PFC race pads in grade 95,but i would like to also use them on the road.
cheers peter

Hi Peter,

I would go with SBS pads as recomended by Wal from PFM, I have been using sintered pads without any problems or you could go for the carbon ones.

the EBC HH are great but they last maximum of 3 track days on mine. but i will buy them again as i do not want to experiment and learn new pads. the previous Carbon Lorraine XBK5 (100 EUR a set) i had before were also great.
