Brake disc fitment across the models

Can someone remind me of the fitment.

I have an 01 rsvr ( with non radial calipers) and I keep seeing discs being sold for this bike that are the same as discs for the later RSVR's, ( and indeed, many rsv Mille's that did not use Ohlins..)
My question is really whether I can buy discs from say , an 03/4 RSVR (Ohlins) and fit them to my 01 Oz wheels ?
I know the wheels dont swap without offsetting the discs but would just like confirmation that the Chinese offerings are not suggested for inappropriate fitment options...! I hope that makes sense folks !

Grtzzz....
Tim.

Same fitment right across the years Tim, just different hub colours/pattern.

Are you getting chinese discs tim???

I got some from mc motoparts only done about 300 miles on them so still bedding in really but they feel great, so far, better than previous wavy discs i had on.

Thinking about it certainly Paul ! I have some on rims with wets but they are very nasty- Chinese options dont seem so cheap after you pay dues tho' it seems !!?
Thnx for the info folks..!

Oh i dunno 90quid for a pair plus 20quid shipping..

Especially when ppl breaking bikes are wanting 200 quid for a 2nd hand set of 10yr old brembos...

Oh I wish! Average return for a pair of Brembos is £120. That's Italian made Brembos, like the set I have sitting here about to go on Ebay.....

And you're forgetting the likelihood of customs duty on the ****** ones, another 20% so that's £128 for vital safety items of unknown provenance.

So companies like yamaha who get a lot parts produced in china, you wouldnt consider because of the unknown providence??

Goto to the mc motoparts website look at the spec of the discs then go compare it to galfer, brembo etc they are the same materials then go and do some research on various bike websites ignore the comments of the doubters with no experience but the 'they are chinese so ****' attitude, and read the reviews by people who have used them on the track and road.

I didnt buy them ignorantly.

128 for a new pair of discs. Try getting that from galfer and brembo. Whos prices are so high because of sponsership deals (which the customer ends up paying for) not because they use some mysterious higher grade metal.

I would argue that your italian brembos are of unknown provinence since they have been sitting on a unknown bike for the past 10yrs.

They are good quality discs, great stopping power and a great price i would recommend trying them and seeing for yourself.

why would you want your money to leave your country or at least europe? whom does it help? at the end you pay the price difference on food and other stuff.
and btw there is a difference in Adidas made in china and Abibas made in china. Sure you can use them both for cleaning windows the same way.

Blimey, calm down fella!

Yamaha et al may well outsource to other companies (not sure about China, but Indonesia yes) but the production would be heavily regulated & monitored. Importantly, they don't outsource for the big bore bikes. Yamaha et al, and the OEM European manufacturers, would not want a damaging law suit against them if they failed, some obscure and untouchable Chinese company wouldn't be so worried. I'd query whether they're the same material too, may be steel but there are infinitely variable qualities depending on how they're made.

You pays yer money & makes yer choice. I know I wouldn't want to be braking at the end of Hanger wondering if the discs are up to the job. I'll buy, and have bought, Chinese fairings for example but I aint leaving any doubt when it comes to the bits that determine if I remain out of A&E.
