Brake bleeding

Hi all,

Bit of a strange one, and it's on my mate's Ducati monster but still a Brembo system so I'm hoping someone can help me out.
Trying to bleed out the brakes on the front of his monster but there's no resistance in the lever, so did the usual fluid change etc and noticed one of the hoses was weeping at the crimped end. He's got some new ones and we bled them through
yesterday but still no braking effect on the lever. I've tried syringing the fluid out and the old school squeeze and bleed routine but still nothing. I'm thinking the master cylinder may be trout but the strange thing is they were working fine a couple of
weeks ago before the calipers were taken off (but not split or pistons pushed).

Any ideas guys?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply mate, was beginning to
think I was being ignored for using the D
word!!
No nipple on it, it goes straight into the
brake lines.

Maybe try bleeding it backwards as in, use a syringe and pump fluid from the caliper to the m/c do one caliper at a time. Failing that try shouting.

I tried it using the reverse method but didn't seem to work - until a bloke I work with told me to hold the brake lever as I did it..........after I'd put all my tools away!!!
If it was my bike I'd have kicked the crap out of it by now, I don't find shouting an extreme enough way of getting my anger out!!!

I've got my clutch to do this weekend, if you turn your telly down a little bit you'll probably hear me lol

Guys for a few quid you can by a bleed tube with a one way valve in it to stop all the tighten/ loosen technique. Basically stops the fluid and/or air going back up trough the nipple. Nipple, I love that word. But I know bleeding the back brake especially is a **** so anything to make things easier must be a good thing.

I've used one of those before, makes no difference in this case.
I used the syringe technique on my RSVR back brake a few times
with no problems at all - in fact the back brake on mine is probably
better than his monster's front brakes ever were!!

And Scoldedcat I'm in Louth, not a million miles from Sheffield,
I'll be listening out for you!!!

Dude right take it from its Sunday night and I have spent most of the weekend pissing anout with my clutch and I can say by far the easiest way to bleed clutch or brake is to use the oil can method.
What I mean is buy an old school style oil can that pumps with your thumb, I got one for a fiver. Fill it with fluid, connect it to the bleed valve on the caliper, open bleed valve and pump away, just keep an eye on the resovoir level and keep taking a bit out at time. Honestly dude it's the best way.
Worked for me

Just a thought as I want to do my rear brake in the near future.
What tube do you guys use for bleeding and where do you get is?

Jeff

Yes I understand that, but the air seems to always come back at some stage on the rear brake & the pressure trick is an easy way to remove it & get a hard pedal again without removing the caliper.
