About this time last year i bought the wife a GPX750R, 1987 model. Proper old donkey it was. Took me 6 months to get it nice and was eventually sold at pretty much what it cost me.

Bought a 1997 gsxr600 SRAD which has been on-going for about 4 months, but usable for last couple of months. Which apart from rear caliper re-build (awaiting parts) and a new set of fork springs is also completed now. HAd a load of issues with this one which in the end turned out to be a Cam timing issue. Someone had removed the cams and fitted 1 tooth out. After a bit of work on the dyno to investigate it's all 100% sorted now and running like a dream

Sadly we're now in the off season for me, bikes are laid up and won't be ridden on the roads until April.

The biggest problem is i have nothing to occupy my time now when i'd usually be working on the bike !!!! Most work is done at lunchtime and also for an hour after work. That means i can still spend time with my boy before bed which is perfect for me.

The rear caliper will take me 2-3 hours to rebuild fully, the forks will be a Sunday afternoon in mates garage..

I need another project !!!!!

"Neil and Bob... Is that your names... Or is that what you do...".

My suggestion is find an old nail, preferably an old SM of some variety, and then you can have a winter bike to thrash and play with. You can even indlge that OCD fetish of yours and clean or after every ride. You get a bike to mess with, you get a bike to ride, and you get one to clean. Win -Win!! Make it a challenge though. Set a price limit and troll the for sales etc. Even one of those ubiquitous Honda step throughs would be great for a giggle and ride in the winter months.
I feel your pain at not riding tho. Was gorgeous yesterday (as good as it gets here in early October) and I pulled my back delivering furniture to a friend. Lucky that I changed out the water wetter to antifreeze earlier in the day as this morning (0600) I awoke to a couple of cm's of the dreaded S word. ****.

Thought you was planning an adventure Weeksy.:yes

He is!! Now leave him the **** alone or be helpful!! Or I will come over there and beat you half to death with the bloody stump of your arm. We need constructive help! The man is crying out in his time of need. The least we can do is be supportive and find/give him a bike!!!

I'm not sure you'd fancy paying me for my time in the same way the wife has to :)

I thought you meant he had to cook you a bug dinner, open your beer and not complain when you fart at the table?:rolleyes

Why no bikes till April??

You not in sunny hot Englandshire?? You don't get bad weather down there, its still perfect motorbike weather for a while yet.

I'm a big girlie :)

Today coming into work at 6.30 it was showing 5 deg on the console... that's WAYYYYYYYYYYY too cold for me. Also dark... can't be arsed with cold and dark.

Weekends are now taken up throwing my Specialized around the hills in the morning, the rest of weekend is spent with my little lad playing.

So basically, no bikes till April.

Sorry to be rude but :bigfinger. Can't see more than 100 yds in Manc this morning for freezing mist.:banghead

Meh. This can only lead to ruin if we start discussing our home climes. -11C here yesterday NOT including the wind chill (and it was blowing like a mf whilst walking from the truck to work!!). Fuckit. I'm going to apply to a hospital in Perth so's I can do a LOT more riding during the year where I am not in need of wooly underthings and a ten kg jacket and pants to stay warm. Can you tell I'm grumpy about not being able to ride?

Brill day today after the mist cleared.I was in the shed to work on my youngest Cameron`s bike . New valves and shims put on this week and sorted today . Just had a run up the road a bit and a shim too thin . Doesn`t half make a noise, I`ll do it Mon as I am at Cadwell park for the Vintage Racing Sun. It`s going to be nice tomorrow . I don`t mind the cold ,it`s the wet and windy I`m not keen on.
