i'm lucky compared to some of the other guys on the forum, i'm alright and the bike is not seriously damaged as we both just slid. Really glad i didn't hit the car in front!

Just wanted to see if anyone has seen or has any of these colours of panels for sale and that if anyone is waiting for replies on bits i'm selling that i'm sorry i'm abit behind now!

PS also wanted to say thanks for my brother for being so understanding :thumbup

yeah unforunately it just went through and marked the exhaust but it would have been a whole lot worse!

Sudden braking traffic and a very slippy road meant 3 front wheel lock ups and i couldn't save the last one! Was a 40mph road so was a low speed off, i just couldnt believe the level of grip and after closer inspection how poor quality the tarmac was maybe diesel contributed there are loads of trucks in the area.

are you sure it's not the new road surace thats being put down everywhere these days, its oil based, and leaks oil onto the surface until the cars/trucks buses have shifted it and can take 2 years to go away. only problem is bikes dont follow cars tracks so we are stuck with it on our part of the road.

Have a look at the surface in the dry, if it looks newish and shiny, contact the council/highways dept, and find out what the surface is constructed from and who/when the work was done.

Then get onto a solicitor and put a claim in for the damage, distress and loss of use.

Mate, always always always follows car tyre lines. How many times have you driven over some roadkill/bricks/anything else in your car with the knowledge that it'll pass easily under the car. Plus the middle is where oil which leaks from cars is also in the middle. If you follow the tyre tracks of cars, they'll swerve to avoid something so just follow them.

Dude, i'm on a bike, i overtake things very rapidly, i dont follow any car tracks, i have my own position which is with a clear road in front of me as much as possible, and i'm sat out towards the white line.

I certainly would not follow a cars track hoping that they might try to miss something in the road, i ride with my own eyes and can take avoiding action, hence why after 22 years of road riding, i havn't ever hit any obstacle in the road, on a bike.:doug

Everyone has there own style of riding, hence why i don't enjoy riding with some mates as their lines are awful for me to see where they are around me, but they are happy with theirs, so thats their call.

The advice about following car tracks came from the highways agency regarding this new ***** road service they have been putting down, and advise bikers to allow for the oil leakage from it, and to ammend their road positioning for its lack of grip.

Ain't they really helpful:jack

I am understanding aren't I?you have it for 5 minutes.......nah-its only a bike at the end of the day,as long as you're alright youth!

Oi! Anyway got the bike back on the road, used it for a few days as car is still off the road and all seems fine.

Hopefully it will not cut into the supermoto funds to much:whoop:
