Bikes 2nd service due...

Hi guys,

The bike needs to go in for a service this week. Anyone had any good/bad experiences with GT Motorcycles in Plymouth??? These are the nearest to me. The next being SP Motorcycles in Exeter (50 miles away)...

It will be the bikes second service, it's first being at 650 miles. Can anyone recommend anything in particular I should ask be done or checked that might not be covered in the service?

Have heard people talking about getting the latest map settings when its in for a service?? Would I notice any gains from getting set to map 2 if it only has Akropovic cans?

And lastly what will the damage be to my wallet???

Any advice would be appriciated.

Hello, i too am in plymouth,
I would not use them again to do any thing, I was looking for quotes for my first service and their one was very cheap compared to SP. i asked to speak to the service manager and asked him if the valve clearances needed doing on the first service and he then told that they did not do them, I asked him to check and he phoned me back after speaking to aprilia uk and said they had MISSED the service bulliten that included that for the new bike. OOPS:eek:.
left and right hand comes to mind
I am also due the second service and will be using two wheel technics who said he will use genuine aprila parts.
give rodney a ring up by the ski centre.

Griff, do you ever come Suffolk way. My 2004R will need it's big 20k kilo service any time between now and early next year (will lay it up in October and just play on my Beemer GS during the winter months).

a bit late, this reply i know but i would avoid GT, their customer service is shockin. if u do take the bike elsewhere and u like the service, let me know. I don't really want to use GT again.
