Hello all, I'm new here and I am thinking of a RSV purchase. I am looking at a 2008 RSV 1000R that will not start (it's been lightly crashed). It rolls over fine but will not start. It is missing the gauge cluster, headlights, and upper fairing. What I am wondering is if this bike will run without the gauge cluster.

My Honda CBR 1000RR will not start without the gauges plugged in so I was thinking maybe this is the problem. Is there a tip over sensor or anything else up front that may keep the bike from starting if it is missing.

Any help would be great, I really want this bike. Thanks!

hello mate!
No the bike wont start withoiut the gauges plugged in lad as it runs a CAN-BUS engine management system!
Sorted!

welcome by the way!!!

Thanks for the reply.

Is there any other sensors in the nose area that may be missing? My Honda has a "tip-over-sensor" that shuts the bike off if it is laying on it's side. It is mounted behind the fairing, between the headlights. Does the RSV have anything like this? The front looks complete except for the fairing, headlights, and gauges.

Where can I get a gauge cluster? What about parts diagrams like microfiche to see all the parts in the front that may be missing?

I've got the itch to get this bike bad! I want to replace my 600RR trackbike with it.
