Just put some water on the bike to give it a little clean and now the bike will not start. the bike shops here are shut the battery made the clocks reset and its now on charge.

Weather here is good and wanted to for a ride. wife said its ok.

Any ideas on how I can gwet this crap started?!?!?!

Any tricks. before the bike reset I did full throttle to try and help and it almost fired but not enough.

Really wanted to give the bike a good blast pleaser any ides:confused:dunno:rant

It'll be double flooded mate, the water will be sitting in the spark plug holes and causing it not to spark correctly and the poor spark will have caused it to over fuel and the plug electrodes wil be soaked in petrol now.

Don't remove the spark plugs as all the water will flood the bores, you have to make sure that you get all the water in the plug wells out before you pull them out dry them off and refit.

Check the electrical connectors round the coils are not damp either, give them a squirt with WD40 or something like that and it should expel the water.

When washing the bike with water always have it running or so that it's warm and the excess water in the plug bores will evaporate off.

Hope this helps and you get your ride out.

It'll be the electrical connectors coil/clocks/kill switch which have got water in.

Hair dyrer/WD40 - it may well be that even once it starts you'll be running in safe mode (ecu flashing on the dash?) - this used to happen sometimes on my old bike, particularly if you've jetwashed it you naughty boy!

paul, what a nightmare!!!

hope you get it sorted out mate.
cant think of anything else to try.

id go with the full!!! battery, hairdryer and wd40 tatic.

pat.

Sabotage, wife said was ok, really now when will you learn.

Standard symptoms for trying to start the bike with a low battery. As AMB suggests, it'll be flooded now due the bike not cranking over quick enough. If you've just washed the bike, without literally throwing water all over it, then it may just be coinsidence that is hasn't started after washing it. As danish says never ever jet wash as it will cause havoc.

Charge your battery up fully and have another go.

Been here before......easiest way i've found and it works for me every time is.......

Cry.....:bawling Shout......:rant

On a more serious note however, get your car (keep it running), whip off the seat, connect the jump leads direct from positive to positive and negative to negative. Switch on the ignition on the bike and select the voltage view. You'll probably note that it is reading 11.6-12ish at this point. Now, get something to place between the drivers seat of the car and the throttle so that the car holds a steady 3000rpm. Don't use a person to hold the car throttle, it isn't reliable enough. Go back and check the voltage reading on the bike and you should see @14 volts. Put the cold start lever on full, stay away from the throttle and thumb the starter. As it will be flooded it may take a couple of attempts, but don't thumb for more than a 5sec period so as not to put too much stress on the starting mechanics, and do NOT touch the throttle.

Good luck and keep it sunny side up :thumbup
