my baby is off to the dyno to get set up and power run

any guesses on bph ?

its a 03 RSVR , bigger air scoops , derestricted air boot , evo air box , akrpovic end can , collector box mod , akrapovic chip , power comannder .

will post power read out on thursday

120-125bhp :dunno
Getting the fueling spot on is more important than the numbers :thumbup

yeah I reckon about 123bhp, I have the same mods, but t with the 57mm TB;s CER chip and a full Ti Akra system that gave me 126 bhp/75 ft-lbs ..and its a high mileage bike(so may be down on power a touch)
cheers Ck

Let me know how you get on cos mine is in next week. You have similar mods to me like Renegade box, Akra SP slip on twin cans, air scoop mod, and power commander.

Likr CK said I aint interested in my BHP. I wantmy fuel curve smooooooooth.

Hmmm 03 RSV, lets see, about 33bhp:devious

only joking mate, 126bhp, does the nearest get a prize...:biggrin

Why are twins only putting out these numbers, my TLS (modded) put out 129 at the rear and that was 10 years old, where is the evolution in engines when IL4's have gone up to 180 bhp

I think twins have come on at the same rate. I haven't had mine dyno'd but from what i've read i can expect about 110-115 from my 00 RSVR. 1098's are supposed to be good for about 150-160. It's the way they make the power. My old SRAD was putting out 126 at the wheel but my RSVR feels as quick if not quicker. Not only that but it depends where you get it dyno'd they all give different readings so you'd have to go to the same place to get a good comparison.

Dyno's

Not only that but it depends where you get it dyno'd they all give different readings so you'd have to go to the same place to get a good comparison.

Even then, you might get a different reading as the ambiant temperature, air humidity and barometric pressure will affect the number's you would get. They even have to be calibrated once in a while... to compensate for wear or something else. Probably witch phase of the moon your in could affect them. They're real usefulness is for back to back run's checking modifications made one after the other. You then know if you're going in the right direction or not.

yeah noticed a few optomistic BHP readings, we have all the fun from 0-160, let the IL4's pass you after that---who cares.
Ck

who cares. BHP figures are for tyre kickers and bar room pub racers and black caters(my black cat is blacker than your black cat):jack. doesn't impress me in the slightest. that figure given is for a 1-2 rpm range, ie 10031-10032rpm. and is used on the road less than 0.01% of the time. as said before, correct fueling is the most important thing achieved with a dyno, and the most linear torque curve you can get. because that is what you use when you ride. and that is the reason that the RSV with the same BHP as a new GSXR600 is so much quicker, TORQUE.
another thing that alot of people don't realise is you cannot gain power. all you can do is move it about. it's all about the area under the graph. you can get higher peak BHP figure but only by moving it from somewhere else. Ie. you could get 135bhp peak but only by ending up with a hole lower down.
leave peak BHP figures for the blokes down the pub that don't know any better, get the bike set up for correct fueling and then go and have fun:thumbup

i agree, after set-up it was the increased torque 76ft-lbs at 7.5k that I noticed more.
Ck

right its all been done and the bike runs like a treat she has 123.98 bhp with 72.94 ft-lbs torque

the fule curve is a small amount out due to the old powercomander on board but i was told if i upgraded to a PCIII usb they can get it spot on for me

bike feels so much more responsive and i recomend the dyno to anyone as such nice blokes and there clued up on milles

many thanks to RJS Superbike in Leicestershire Charged £129.25 for the work

I agree that HP figures are for the birds! We all know that on the street our bikes are as good as they get. I was just on a terribly bumpy crap road today and this guy on a gixxer was behind me...I knew he wanted to pass so I kicked it up a notch...let's just say he didn't pass until the smooth straight ;)
