Best tyres for the mille?

Anyone know what the best tyres are for a 52 plate mille? would like long lasting and warm up quick ones if you can get both in a tyre.

You'll find lots of suggestions on here.....I've been using Pirelli Diablo Corsas which heat up quickly and inspire a load of confidence BUT don't last that long.......Metzeller M3's are a good choice as they suit the RSV and give more miles I understand...! The problem is you're not gonna get the tyres to last too long due to the way the bike makes it's power; chewing those back tyres up good and proper!

hi mate i have just had a brand new pirelli corsa 3 rear tyre and the guys who fitted it are the tyre suppliers to the bsb championship .great blokes rob who was chief enginer at foggy petronas said that for all round road use this is the best tyre on the market £115 fitted .www.complog.co.uk

i've just watched my free dvd from mcn, and it was TT greates races
in the 50's these guys were lapping iom at ave 93mph on excuses for rubber
makes you think doesn't it
rubber is soooo good these days all top brands will do the trick

its true, there isnt really a bad tyre nowadays, just gotta pick the type to suit your kind of riding.the michelin pilot power 2ct is also a fave of alot on here too, with more than a few reporting good mileages on them.

Really depends on what type of tyre profile you prefer, tyres are a very subjective thing.....

I prefer a rounder profile on the road - I use Bridgestone 014's as I did not like the Michelin profile. On the track I prefer a more triangular profile like the Avon Viper Extreme.

i have the bt014's at the moment and cant faut them at all,ive always like bridgestones tho, very big on confidence and excellent in all weathers.
think theres a new version of them now tho,bt016 iirc.

i'm on sportsmax qualifiers rr
so far so good
used to be a racetec man - fantastic when warm but not when cold
but i had standard diablos on when i bought the bike and could et knees down easy enough with no slips.
only thing i'd say is - i'm quite physical and aggressive steering a bike so the extra grip is confidence inspiring

Currently running Michelin Pilot Power 2ct...all of the above tyres should perform exceptionally well for you! ... i personally feel the MPPz suit my bike setup, ridestyle stick like the proverbial, but give reasonable milage.
I havn't had the chance to run a set of Pirelli Corsas, but they have exceptional test reports, however like most Pirellis wear fast i would think. I maybe give em a run next set round for comparisons.
:thumbup

for longer lasting tyres heres what rob said "tyre wear is at its greatest in the first 15 feet when pulling off thats when the tyre takes most wear so if you dont rev to much pull off smoothly change gear smoothly you will conserve your tyres more " not qouted by me but by someone who has very in depth knowlege on tyre wear .

My rear is now fooked, Michelin PP 2ct's, and got a good 5k out of it ans its a great all rounder mate :thumbup

I like the corsa 111's too, got the
etz M3's on at the mo, which I dont luike much.
About to try some race scrubbed Racetechs, anyone know if they are any good?
cheers

ive also got the Pirelli Diablo Corsas fitted and i can say with experience they will stop on a 2pence from 70 just a pity the person riding it cant stop so well :laugh

yeah !they are great tyres..didnt stop me riding off the front tho!.
Must say tho they are great in the wet too.
Ck

And in from the left field:

If you lean more towards the touring side of the equation try Avon Storm STs. I love them on my Mille and they're cheap too!
