Best tyres for 3000 mile trip?

Hi

I'm off to Austria for 1 week in June on the RSV and am looking for some decent tyres that will give enough mileage for this trip. My last set (BT014) has meant that the rear only lasted less than 1200 miles :biggrin

I need to avoid having to make tyre changes whilst I am away as I wont have the time, and dont want to risk dealer stock levels etc.

Any advice on a decent combo with good enough grip and mileage?

Thanks

i do alot of mileage on my Millé so have been running sports touring tyres for some time

both Pirelli Angel ST's and Avon Storms have worked well getting in the region of 5-6k from a pair.

havent had any grip issues either they are happy to run right to the edge of the tyre, they also warm up very quickly in fact they feel confident from the word go.

if you like bt014's bt016's are a safe bet, running them at the min and they feel good in all conditions. 3000miles shouldn't be a problem for them

BT023...similar profile to the 014's so less of a handling change to deal with... but 1200 miles to a tyre...only ever done less than that with an old avon av40 on a Tuono during a few trackdays..900miles.
Now using Pirelli Corsa Rosso's and after 2000miles they still look pretty fresh. Basically most older compound tyres don't last.
I love Dunlop Roadsmarts but they tend to cup on the front of some bikes after 3-4000 miles if you aren't ruthless at watching the pressures.
