Hi guys,

Have been out of the loop for a while and used to run on Dunlop RR's. I understand they are not made now :-( As I live in Spain now and the roads are fab 15 corners per kilometre, I need stickier tyres but also will last a bit too, can anyone advise on the best ones out there please. Really would appreciate this, many thanks Pete and Caroline

Please can you help!!!

Am in the Uk for a few more days and need to get these ordered so really would appreciated it! Thanks peeps Denzil

hey, all i can say is the metzler racetecs i have on mine seem to be some off the best ive had to date, great grip and excellent road handling. Unsure of the life span of these but i ride quite hard and have given them roughly 1500 miles so far with loads of meat still left on them

many thanks for that, will look at these for sure, and obviously any other replies I get, but that really does help me again thanks for info Denzil

Racetec's won't last long at all, but have amazing grip! (got some on at the mo). I've heard good things about the Pirelli Corsa Rosso but the slightly older model Corsa III is also very good and might be a bit cheaper :) .

Ok guys really appreciate this what do you think of the Dunlop D209 qualifier 2's

Technically theres no bad sports tyre out there, its all about which 1 suits you and your riding style and how many miles you want to get out of them, how much you want to spend, take the Maxxis supersport tyre, Guy Martin had them on at the TT and highly rated them as do the TT marshalls and if Guy Martin cant outride a tyre its highly unlikely the likes of us will and at 155quid a set might be worth a look, im seriously considering them............

Pretty much agreed about no bad tyres but I remember on the old Zone there were a few threads of people having problems with Maxxis delaminating and the like. Is it too cynical to think Guy Martin may have been supplied a better set of Maxxis than youre likely to get from your local dealer??

Personally loving BT023's agreed a sports/touring tyre but plenty enough grip for me. No TT star me but not excatly gentle on tyres and getting well over 3,000 miles out of a rear on these (2CTs / Metzellers knacked in 1000 - 1500). The wear is really even - fully edge to edge and no squaring off. Front going strong and wearing well too.

Ron Haslam has apparently changed to BT023s for his race school - doubt he pays for tyres either but a pretty good endorsement I reckon.

Not cheap but £/mile and £/smile best I've had on the RSV
