Hi,

Does anyone know the best/cheapest place to pick up a new set of front pads, i'm finding £70 + for pair of EBC 'HH' sintered, seems a lot for 8 little squares!

EBC's or decent top brand equivalents?

Cheers

All depends on how much you like stopping really!

I thought that £70 for a set of EBC pads was a fair price.:dunno

You can always get those cardboard cut out brake pads off Ebay. :roll

I like stopping almost as much as accelerating, but come on it's a lot of money for tiny slices of asbestos lumps with metal shavings don't you think? They're not made of Frankincense & gold you know :coocoo Especialy when they're about £30 less for the likes of Fireblades etc... I don't see why the fact they're made for radial calipers should make them any more expensive:puke

I won't be buying those naff 'Gold Frens' off ebay if they're the carboard ones you're referring to.

I've subsequently found new EBC's for a tenner less :thumbup afterall that's nearly 90miles worth of go juice! :nana

PS. How's the hooked airbox?

I agree that we are getting ripped off just cause we own what people see as an exotic motorcycle. :eatcorn

I ordered them along with new pads for my brothers bike, so split the £6.95 postage with him so my pads only cost me about £62 delivered :biggrin http://www.gear4bikes.com/acatalog/Aprilia_Front_Pads.html Dont let the year labelling put you off FA322/4HH are the ones. The likes of M&P are charging £77:puke

Check out Amstrong brake pads on ebay. Used them on track and everyday ride without problems.

My two pennies worth

There are an even number of people using Armstrong pads that dont like them to like them (You can argue that about most things), however I found no performance orientated reviews for them.

Personally I would stick with EBC, Carbone Lorraine, SBS, Ferodo, Bendix......my only reasoning is that I push pretty hard at times and do the ood track day, I am a chunky monkey and need to know that the brakes will do what they are supposed to. I therefore would not use something that is an unknown quantity when it comes to relying on it for my life.

I use SBS pads , they stopping power is progressive with loads of feedback but they are on the soft side and wear quicker than the EBC's or Carbone Lorraine's.

Everything in life is an uknown quantity until you try it for yourself, unless you believe everything you read. I must ride like a fairy then cos I think they are ok. I believe sergi does track days and he likes the armstrongs. Too many opinions on here based on zero experience methinks.
