Think I have battery issues that are causing the problems with my digital display & rev counter. So I'm gonna get a new battery & see if that improves anything before I go buying new clocks. Have heard that the RSVs will use a lot of battery juice.
Should I be looking for something special or will an standard new unit be good enough? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

There are two solutions to ripping through batteries. Either keep the bike on a battery maintainer or buy a Harley Davison performance battery. I decided to do that a few years ago and it worked wonders. I figured those sleds need a lot of cranking amps to turn over a big vtwin and the batteries must be good if they can Handle the borage of electronic junk all over those things.

Look at replacing the entire copper from battery to starter/ engine/frame and up-rating the woefully inadequate starter solenoid. Coupled with the Yuasa you have a killer start package.

Thanks guys,
That is great advice. Got a new battery & solenoid on order!:thumbup

Hello matey,
I ordered a Yuasa TTZ14S & when I got it home found out they had given me a YTX12-BS instead. They got a bit arsey with me when I went back so I told them to give me my money & stick the battery in a hole.:jack. Haven't had time to sort another yet so still got no clocks. Nightmare!

Just my local bike shop. They've always been good before but got a bit of an attitude when I said that I actually wanted the battery I had ordered. Never mind, i'll get one somewhere else. Just haven't got round to going anywhere else yet.

Got a new Yuasa TTZ14S & it seems to have sorted my clock problems as suggested. Went for 120 mile blat today & everything worked fine. Good to have a speedo again coz you just don't realise how fast you're going. A little throttle to overtake something & you're suddenly doing over a ton & thinking you're doing seventy:eek:.
Haven't done the other bits but that can wait for a while now. Not so worried now I've got my clocks back. Thanks for the advice Golightly & everyone else who chipped in!:thumbup

Yeah I think he's right. These machines use so much juice just starting up that you definitely need a big battery & a smart charger.
