Best £67.00 ive ever sent

Recently fitted the US spec side stand to my 02 RSV. It has to be the best money ive ever spent. I can now leave the bike pretty much anywhere an not have to worry that when i come back and its gonna be on the floor.

It a slightly longer stand and has a different footprint to the UK one. The mounting bracket also uses 3 bolts instead of 2 and is a lot thicker . If anybody does opt for a US spec one you will need to get 3 new US spec bracket bolts as they are longer than the UK ones. i got mine from my local dealer which took around 5 days to get here :thumbup

I know there are alternatives out there, Bubseyboo does one and i know you can adapt a Gixer stand to fit, but i thought id leave some feedback for you all.

Overall a top bit of kit :thumbup

dude what ya done with ya old one? mines nailed from the crash and never got round to sorting another.

who did you order it from?
Mines is as wonky as a three legged marathon runner.

Binned mine, it had split and i got it welded, it then split again :jack, check ebay, heres normally a few on there.

Got mine from my local dealer (speedaway), they should have them in stock in italy, take about a week to get them in.

parts you need are:

8146338- complete side stand
8150196 x 2 - bracket bolts 10x35
8150287 x 1 - bracket bolts 10x90 (its actually an engine bolt)

I wonder why different stands for different markets? :dunno

The TL was the same, I ditched my AU TLS stand for a larger footprint US one. (It was also long and bent on a different angle - but the overall length from pivot to foot was he same).

What i was told (by a dealer) is that the US have a different (stronger/better) sidestand because if they were to fit the crap european spec stands they would get there ***'s sued when a bike falls over. Dunno how true it is, but does kind make sense.
