Hello!

I have a new bellypan, in 2 halves, to fit, as the one thats on is well knackered... Anyhoo.. ANY idea how to remove the little fixings (rubbery plasticky nipples and small clamp-like washers) in one piece so I can use again on the new halves?

Thanks. :biggrin

:O Is THAT what they're called!! Lol. Will they come off teh "nipples" ok, do you know, Lee?

Thanks! :)

M8 the star washers on old plastic plugs are a bastid to get off.............if you have any success let me know ( you should be a surgeon if u do!!)...........what happens is with age, heat & cold et...etc. the plastic becomes brittle so when you try and prise off the star washers they just BREAK........ no big deal as they are pretty cheap enough but you would be better of replacing them down ur local fastener shop for some stainless equivalent size bolts n' nuts ..............much better

I was gonna separate my bellypan when making my rad guards for cleaning but didn't bother when I saw the stupid bastid starwasher/plastic fixings!!!

Lol - cheers, matey. I was thinking of getting some screen fixings - with the rubber "squidge" holders. Although I DO have an old set of pink (red once, lol) fairing fixings knocking about.... I'll have a nosey tomorrow at how many of the little sodding things there are..... Ta. :)

You can get them off if you use a thin medium size flat screw driver under the washer and just keep twisting gently side to side around the circumferance of the washer but once its off you'll have to reshape them with some pointy nose pliers. Easier if you've got new washers then you can just snip the old ones off...

ring me on 07875582488 i have star washers quarter turns fairing bolts a carbon hugger 2 levers (scratched) a plastic fuel tank no damage but will need painting to you liking might have a few other bits lying around

Fairing bolts?!!?? I shall ring later. I just got in after fiddling with the thing ALL bloody day. Perhaps I need to learn which end of a spanner actually does something... ;)
