Lincolnshire, England..
Hi all. Got back from TT yesterday afternoon. The whole event was spoiled by the weather. I only got a liitle taste of what could have been. The racing I got to see was awsome.. Journey back was a nightmare, nearly 4 hours of rain, fog, strong winds and terible spray from busy traffic. Anyway, back safe, the 35k mileage gen 1 Tuono never missed a beat, and turn many heads. My mates Gixer thou got water in the electrics and took alot of cleaning and wd40 to get going. I told him he needs to get some Italian reliability....:lol

Yeah,my mate reckoned it was pretty grim weather wise.He did enjoy the little bit of racing he did watch, but the rest of it was mostly *****.To cap it all,his bike fell off the stand and broke the clutch lever and led indicators.Dont think he will be going back in a hurry.

Hey Tifa. I didnt get any photos. I didnt have the best of times, I would love to go to the Isle again, it is so pretty, but with the Mrs in the car out of TT time. I am proud of myself for getting of my arse and going, but it was not alot of fun!!!!! Its another one of my bucket list (american term, but somes it up). Daz

Good effort Daz.

I've often fancied going over for the TT but never managed.

I rode round the circuit last year on a mates MVAugusta F4 ... terrifying experience! Utterly mind boggling to imagine what the pros do.

Newelly, I never got a tour of the mountain, weather so bad & I was not interested in plodding round in the fog (if open). Big respect for the riders who race the course, its so dangerous everywhere. Shocking to see them go through St ninnians (**** at spelling) and bottom of Bray hill, much more narrow and fast than you can imagine from TV. Proper brave boys and girls. To hear those bike on full throtle for so long on bumps and changes of road surface is increbible...

Daz, it sounds like you have been anticipating this a bit too much.

As my old grand daddy used to say, expect the worst & you wont be dissappointed.

I am off to the Manx TT later in the year & I anticipate it will be crap, so anything better is a bonus.

Olaf, I will take your advice and expect it to be **** in the future...Lol

It's better when the TT isn't on u can get to places without all the hassle of bikes everywhere and there are some real pretty places on the IOM I spent 3 and half yrs living there so found plenty of great places to go.

If u want to see proper racing (ie groups not time trail) then go and watch the Southern 100 down at castletown only on for the weekend so a lot cheaper to view and great close racing a little bit like the Irish road racing...

Rexr, the place is beautiful, I will go back to the Island for a holiday, when the TT is not on. Daz

Glad you went. You were unlucky with weather.
But good bits, there must be?e.g. bikes engines all starting on ferry?

Olaf

Uno, will do.
Send a PM with you phone details & I will try and meet up.

Are you going alone, I am going with a couple of others - not Tuonos though.
I am stopping at some country club with a swimming pool, real hard core biker stuff.

I've always loved the notion of going to the TT but can't guarantee the weather & as much as I enjoy going to the pub every now and then I don't enjoy camping out in them for a week at a time because of bad weather. I did too much of that when I used to go scuba diving. Had many a week sat in the pub playing card & pool all day in the Isle of Mann, Skye, Outer hebrides, Scilly Isles, Ballinskelligs, Farne Islands. Much prefer to go where the weathers guaranteed now.

Daz loon...noo that yiv got the tourin bug, get yersel ower tae the NW200 or the Ulster GP, some real good proper racing tae been seen there as weel. Ah think ye wid like it.

Can be done as a long weekend so yer back in time for school on Monday.:thumbup
