I haven't lurked about over here for a while. I sold my Tuono in December after crashing pretty hard at the track. I augered in at about 60 when my motor died in a corner with my knee on the ground. I apparently scraped off the kick stand switch and killed the motor. So, I fixed her up and a buddy offered me what I originally paid for her, so I sold it. I had surgery to repair my right hand in January. I had torn my collateral ulnar ligament off of my right thumb and it was "re-installed". I have had my hand back since the 28th or so of Feb and it is pretty rough. I am getting more use out of it, but it has a PITA. I bought a new 2008 Husqvarna SM610 to play on since I can't really afford another Tuono right now and I have always wanted one. Sorry I haven't caught ya'll up, but I forget to go to all the forums some times.

Here are a few of the pics related to the story

Note wire through hand with button to hold ligament down to the bone. Got the wire out about three weeks ago

The Tuono with new radiators, and oil cooler, I had some bracket "re-configuring" issues.

That's not good to hear - or see Doug. Very bad luck but it seems like the interest hasn't died or your sense of humour. Very best wishes from an old bugger!

I hear ya brother. Going in in a week to get two plates, 24 screws, two pins, and a handful of wire removed from my right elbow. The nine lil screws and plate that holds my left fourth proximal phalanx have to stay. Work HARD at physio, and it WILL come back! I'm getting the hardware removed so that if I bin the T at the track this summer, then my whole elbow won't es-plode. Let me know how you like the Husky.. looking at the same one meself, but haven't heard any seat of the pants reviews on it yet.

The Husky is great so far, only complaint is the seat is awful, but it is a dirt bike. It is like my old DR-Z400 only it has lots more power. I really enjoy it so far, but until I get the soreness out of my hand, I will wait to go to the track. At 50 we heal a little slower.

Ahhhh piffle. I'm just a punk *** of forty six. I still heal well enough... Just seems to be a little creaky sometimes. So what's with the "Old" part of the nic. Yer still a punk *** to me!! Yer just as old as you want to be. Hang in there dude, and remember, Ibuprofen is our friend!

I think they are around 40-45 ish? No Idea. Better than the DR-Z by a good bit and it is 35 ish.

Shvlhd, I am a bit older, I am giving it a go, but the thumb is fighting me a bit. Lots of pain in my braking grip makes for tough going, hoping it gets better by May or so. This has been useless since November 9, so that is why I whine about being old. I am getting better, just not fast enough to suit me. I have most of the cracked rib issues behind me, but I think I ripped a little bit of stuff on the rib cage. Of course I have enough hand to do 3 or 4 stoppies before I have to rest.:devious

Just got back from the gym, Doug, and for whatever reason, I am feeling ALL those 46 years and ALL those broken bones. I also have nine itty bitty screws and a plate in the proximal phalanx of my left ring finger, so I am no stranger to hand physio either. I know it's hard, and I'm telling you now, it's still gonna hurt after a long "brisk" ride or a track day. Ergo my Costco sized jar of ibuprofen and generic Robaxacet. Never show the kids pain though. They have to keep believing us old buggers are tougher than they are!!

If I can swing it with the missus to be (getting married this summer so I am forbade to add to the stable of five bikes and three projects), I'll be picking up a 400 SM or if the reviews a la TLS Doug are good enough, maybe a Husky like his. *grin* I can use a little extra juice getting this 6'5", 270 lb wide load movin'.

Oh, and btw, I STILL have my 97 TLS!!! Can't part with it... to much fun!

Trust me, I had a sweet DR-Z, which I rode recently, and it doesn't compare power wise to the Husky. That said, the DR-Z is a sweet, reliable scooter.

Here is my old one.
